The Lagos State government, under the dynamic leadership of Mr Babajide Sanwoolu is set to roll out about 20,000 prepaid meters to some areas in the State.
Governor Sanwoolu gave this hint at the Lagos Corporate Assembly which held today in Lagos.
Sanwoolu, while speaking at the 7th corporate assembly tagged, BOS MEETS BUSINESS made the disclosure while addressing the live and online participants at the event.
‘We will soon roll out 20,000 meters to highly populated areas in the State as a way of boosting electricity supply to SMEs in the State’.
Speaking further, he said, ‘it is not something we are doing alone. We will partner with the two Discos operating in Lagos to make this happen’, he said.
The governor stated that, as key corporate stakeholders in the State, the two Discos have invested substantial amount in the power sector and they deserve to make profit.
‘Also, the Discos have agreed to work with us, with the promise to increase electricity supply to the State to between 20 to 22 hours daily’, he added.
The Lagos Corporate Assembly, organised by the Lagos State Ministry of Commerce and Industry provides a unique platform for Lagos State Government and the corporate business sector in the State to meet and share ideas and concerns, towards boosting the State’s economy.
The event was attended by hundreds of Lagos based business men and women, including Omo’ba ‘Peju Akinyemi, Founder /CEO of Ikorodu Oga Radio and many others, who joined the meeting in-person and online.
