Despite the crushing effects of the economic recession currently bedeviling the nation, a federal lawmaker, representing Ikorodu federal constituency in the house of representatives, Hon Babajimi Benson has made good his promise of giving out free monthly foodstuffs to his constituents.
The monthly gesture dubbed JB I-Care Food Bank or ‘Apo Aanu’ in Yoruba is a monthly food distribution programme of the legislator aimed at cushioning the effects of the economic hardship being experienced by Nigerians.
According to an insider, Hon Jimi Benson will continue to keep his pact with members of his constituents on the free food distribution programme, especially as process of staple food items like rice and garri keeps going up in the market.
Recall that, the amiable lawmaker and his wife, Jumoke has vowed to sustain the people-oriented project, inspite of the current economic recession. The duo in an exclusive chat with Ikorodu Oga Radio at the distribution of the February ration of foods to beneficiaries disclosed that the project was being funded from their private purses.
