IKORODU WEST AGOG AS REP BENSON FLAGS OFF ORI-OKUTA EYITA LINK ROAD PROJECT, SAYS FIRST PHASE WOULD BE READY IN 12 WEEKS

Saturday, 9th December would remain forever fresh on the minds of many residents of Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area in Ikorodu Local Government of the state.

This is as the Chairman, House of Reps Committee on Defense, Rep Babajimi Benson formally flagged off the construction of the Ori-Okuta -Ajaguro – Eyita stretch road project, to be completed with solar street lights.

Hundreds of residents of the area, comprising of Community leaders, traditional rulers and APC Chieftains who witnessed the historic event were full of commendations for Benson’s intervention on the road which has been in deplorable state for over 26 years.

Ikorodu Oga Radio can authoritatively reports that the long stretch of road will serve as a major link road to traffic from Agric, Ori-Okuta and Eyita / Sagamu road axis of Ikorodu North LCDA where Rep Benson recently delivered multiple interconnecting roads.

It was gathered that the road would help to divert traffic from these two council areas, thus decongesting traffic from Sabo, Garage and Agric axis while stimulating economic prosperity of the areas.


Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Rural Development, Dr Nurudeen Yekini Agbaje who joined Hon Benson at the event, commended the federal lawmaker’s infrastructural strides across Ikorodu Division. He equally used the opportunity to admonish the community stakeholders to take ownership of the road, by ensuring its regular maintenance.

Agbaje further encourage the community to leverage his office for government interventions on the infrastructural deficits within the community.

In their separate contributions at the flag-off ceremony, Chief Sikiru Olayiwola, Baale Ajaguro/ Ori-Okuta and the Chairman, Concerned Residents of Ori-Okuta, Com Tunde Gbewesa and other community leaders expressed appreciations to Rep Benson for facilitating the road project, while assuring him of total cooperation and support of the community stakeholders and youths for the smooth completion of the road project.
