The Management of Nigeria’s first online Community Radio, Ikorodu Oga radio has announced plans to host a ‘Made in Ikorodu Business Awards’ meant to honour and celebrate local businesses and SMEs operating across Ikorodu division.
A statement from the Ikorodu-based community radio outfit reads in part ‘Made-in-Ikorodu Business Awards (MBA) is Ikorodu Oga Radio’s flagship awards, created as a platform for celebrating business innovation and entrepreneurial excellence at the grassroots. The award is also aimed at creating a platform for profitable business networking and cross-fertilisation of ideas among key stakeholders. It is also aimed at promoting healthy competition among SMEs and MSME operators in the division.
According to the statement, signed by Omo’ba Peju Akinyemi, Founder / CEO, Ikorodu Oga Radio, winners of the prestigious grassroots business awards will be announced at an award dinner, slated for Friday, June 9th, 2017 to serve as a robust platform for mutually-rewarding business interface with regulatory bodies, funding agencies, financial institutions and other key stakeholders.
Some categories of the maiden edition of the awards are Most Outstanding Hotels, Schools, Restaurants, Bars, and Hospitals. Others are Most Outstanding Telecommunication Companies, Fast Food Brands, Commercial and Microfinance Banks among others.
Some outstanding corporate organizations that have been operating in the division for decades would also be given special recognition for their immense contribution to the economy of the division.
The Made-in-Ikorodu Business Awards seeks to honour corporate organisations which have impacted the community positively and have contributed immensely to the economic prosperity of the division.
