Monday, 23rd November was a busy day for Ikorodu born federal lawmaker, Hon Babajimi Benson as he led a team of Community Media journalists on a tour of some of his ongoing constituency projects across the division.

Hon Benson noted that, he decided to visit some of the project site to personally assess the level of progress on the sites and to ensure that the projects are delivered to specifications.

As at the last count, Hon Benson currently has a  total of 13 constituency projects currently ongoing simultaneously across the Ikorodu constituency. They include, 10 units of 8 blocks of classrooms, 1 mini-stadium at  the Ita-elewa youth center and two (2) primary health care centres already completed and ready for commissioning at Ibeshe and Agbele, by Grammar School area.

Making a remark on the project, Hon Benson stated that, he has been able to deliver on his electoral promise of attracting federal government projects to the division.

‘So far, I have been able to deliver about 22 school buildings across Ikorodu Division. This is, in addition to the nine (9) new ones currently under construction. We are still going to do more, particularly in the area of educational development, through infrastructural interventions in our schools’, he promised.

Speaking at the site of the Ita-elewa youth center, which is being upgraded into a mini-stadium, with the ongoing construction of a 5-aside football pitch, basketball and volleyball courts, Hon Benson expressed his commitment towards addressing the problem of crime and youth restivenss in the constituency, through productive engagements.

‘There is no doubt that we are currently experiencing youth restivenss across Ikorodu constituency, this project is our own little contribution towards stemming the tide of criminal activities. When this facility is fully completed, our youths can now get themselves productively engaged’, he stated.

While addressing some  youths at the site, the amiable federal lawmaker promised to personally come over to play a football match with Ikorodu youths during the project commissioning.
