The six monarchs and traditional rulers of Ikorodu Division have presented a joint development demands to the candidate of the ruling, All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Babajide Sanwoolu and his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat.
The document was endorsed by the Ayangbure of Ikorodu and paramount ruker of the division, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Ranodu of Imota, Oba Ajibade Agoro, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Oba Semiu Orimadegun Kasali, Obateru of Egbin Kingdom, Oba Akeem Oyebo and Olubeshe of Ibeshe Land, Oba Richard Ogunsanya. Also present at the presentation was the Lisa of Ipakodo and Ijede respectively.
The monarch’s demands cutting across development programmes and infrastructural projects across Ijede, Igbogbo, Imota, Egbin, Ipakodo and Ikorodu town was presented to the gubernatorial candidate at a special consultation meeting he held with the monarchs and other stakeholders at the Ayangburen Palace in Ikorodu on Monday, 4th December, 2018.
Responding to the demands by the monarchs, Mr Sanwoolu pledged his commitment to the demands jointly presented by the royal fathers, assuring them that his government, if elected in 2019 will bring positive developments to Ikorodu division of the state.
Mr Sanwoolu also commended the monarchs for being worthy representatives of their subjects, by making quality demands on their behalf. He also commended residents of Ikorodu for having well educated and professionals as their monarchs.
In the demands, cited by Ikorodu Oga Radio, the monarchs asked for speedy completion of all on-going state government projects, particularly the Igbogbo-Ginti-Elepe, Owutu-Isawo-Arepo roads and the Ajebo market in Imota. They also demanded for more state government infrastructural developments in the division, particularly a sport stadium and building of a Governor’s chalet in the division for the governor and state executives, same way it is built in other divisions of the state.
Similarly, the monarchs also requested for more juicy political appointments for Ikorodu sons and daughters in the Sanwoolu-Hamzat administration, if elected into office in 2019.
