Following the formal commencement of public campaign for governorship candidates, Lagos APC governorship candidate, Mr Babajide Sanwoolu has met with royal fathers, traditional heads and critical stakeholders across Ikorodu Division of the state to seek their endorsement and support.
The strategic meeting, according to the governorship hopeful was with three main objectives of formal consultation, royal blessings as well as a strategic interaction with the people of Ikorodu Division, with a view to understand their needs, so that such can be injected into the APC campaign manifesto for the 2019 general elections and an opportunity to formally seek the support of the good people of Ikorodu Division for his candidacy and that of his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat at the 2019 governorship polls.
Addressing stakeholders, comprising of royal fathers, traditional heads, chiefs, opinion leaders and other critical stakeholders of the division, Sanwoolu stressed that, ‘our visit to Ikorodu is in three fold, first to confer with our royal fathers and receive their blessings before we start public campaigns. We are also here to meet with the good people of Ikorodu Division, to feel their pulse and understand their needs. And lastly, to formally request for your support ahead of the 2019 elections’.
Unconfirmed sources also told Ikorodu Oga Radio that the monarchs have promised to work in partnership with their subjects to ensure the emergence of Sanwoolu and Hamzat as governor and deputy governor of Lagos state respectively, come 2019.
Sanwoolu further assured that he will run an all-inclusive government that will listen to the voice of the masses and consult them in the day-to-day running of the state affairs. Sanwoolu also pledged that himself and his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat will hold regular meetings with Lagosians on government policies and programmes, if elected in 2019.
Sanwoolu was accompanied to the consultation meeting by his campaign DG, Hon Toyin Ayinde, his deputy Cardinal James Odumbaku and other members of the BOSCO campaign team.
Excited APC faithfuls and party leaders also turned out en-masse to receive their party’s flagbearer and his deputy.
