IKORODU CONSTITUENCY 1: HON SOB AGUNBIADE DECLARES OPEN SUPPORT FOR GBOLAHAN OGUNLEYE, PLEDGES TO WORK FOR PARTY’S VICTORY

All coast seems clear while all rumours seemed to have been finally laid to rest as the incumbent Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon SOB Agunbiade openly declared his support for the party’s flag-bearer, Hon Ogunleye Gbolahan Adetokunbo, popularly called OGA.

To the chargrin of many, Hon Agunbiade, a fourth term member and Majority Leader of the House openly endorsed Gbolahan at the Ita-Elewa open ground venue of the APC Ikorodu Constituency 1 campaign flag-off on Monday.

Speaking at the event, Agunbiade noted that all hands must be on deck for the ruling All Progressives Congress APC to retain its popularity and leadership across Nigeria, Lagos State and Ikorodu in particular.

‘In any political endeavour, things cannot be stable. It may favour one side today and favour another tomorrow’, he said.

He added that, ‘The party holds the ace and determines who gets what, particularly the party’s mandate. It is the prerogative of the party leadership. Consequently, as a loyal party man, one must remain steadfast and committed to the party’s interest. APC must control the next government, from the federal to the local government’.

Agunbiade also cleared the air on rumoured grievances against the party’s decision not to give him a fourth term ticket.

‘APC is one, myself and my supporters remain with the APC and we will work for the success of all the party’s candidates in the forthcoming elections’.

He concluded by warning rumour mongers and mischievous elements in the party to desist from sowing the seed of discords between him and the party’s candidate for Ikorodu Constituency 1 Lagos State House of Assembly seat.

‘Gbolahan is my brother and he is an indigene of Ikorodu. Myself and Gbolahan are related in a branch of Lasunwon. No one should try to come in between us. I have accepted the party’s decision in good faith and have since moved on in the interest of the party, he stated.

Hon Agunbiade’s political group, the Onward Movement of Nigeria were also fully represented at the campaign rally as they adorned their official wine colour Ankara Aso-Ebi singing and dancing in demonstration of solidarity to all the party’s candidates in the forthcoming elections.
