IKODASS GIVES REPORT OF 2020 IKORODU OGA DAY CELEBRATION, APPOINTS ELECTORAL COMMITTEE MEMBERS AT 2021 GENERAL COUNCIL MEETING

The leadership of Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS) led by Otunba Ganiyu Olusegun Abiru has presented its 2020 Ikorodu Oga Day celebration report to its general council at a meeting held on Sunday, 21st February at the Ikorodu Town Hall.

Rendering the report on behalf of the IKODASS  executives at the meeting, Honourable Secretary of IKODASS, Com Pelaye Jamiu Okanlawon noted that the 2020 annual Ikorodu Oga Day celebration was modified and celebrated in low-key, in line with the mood of the nation, occasioned by the global Covid-19 pandemic.

According to him, ‘owing to the ravaging Covid-19 pandemic, IKODASS as a responsible organization called off its usual funfair and merriment in response to the government prescribed Covid-19 protocols’.

He added that, IKODASS resolved to hold scale down its usual week-long activities to a maiden public lecture, donation of school uniforms to indigent school pupils and construction of borehole among other social initiatives to commemorate the annual celebration.

A major highlight of the meeting was the appointment of a five (5) man electoral committee members saddled with the responsibility of conducting IKODASS 2021 Executive Election for the 2021-2023 executive members.

The meeting later inaugurated members of the IKODASS Electoral Committee namely, Mr Babatunde Rotimi, Com Monsur Olalekan Pelumi, Mr Shakioye Olatunji, Mrs Dehinsilu Nurat and Prince Benson Omotayo.

The council also approves the 4th Sunday in March as the date of election into IKODASS Executives. Further details regarding application form is to be announced by the electoral committee.
