The entire Ikorodu Division communities, particularly the ruling All Progressives Congress APC family in Ikorodu was thrown into mourning at the sudden demise of a notable Ikorodu-born APC Leader, Primate Charles Adeleke Odugbesi, popularly called Blessed Charlie.
Primate Odugbesi, it was gathered passed on in the early hours of Friday, 7th July.
The news of his demise was first broken by the Ikorodu Division APC Chairman, Hon Olasunkanmi Tijani.
Tijani, in the announcement said;
With total will to submission to Almighty God, APC Ikorodu North LCDA announce the shocking and painful death of our leader and a former State Secretary of our Party Primate Charles Odugbesi JP which occurred early this morning 7th July 2023. May his soul rest in peace
The burial arrangements will be announced later.
Primate Odugbesi was said to be hale and hearty up till the late hours of yesterday before he later passed on this morning. He was aged 73.
His last public statement, debunking the rumoured plan by The Mandate Group, Ikorodu to protest the re-nomination of the immediate past Commissioner for Agriculture, Ms Abisola Olusanya, daughter of an APC Chieftain, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya was published by this medium three days ago.
