The joy of hundreds of indigent Ikorodu Division residents knew no bounds on Saturday, as they were part of the beneficiaries of the September monthly iCare Foundation food support dubbed, ‘Apo Aanu’.
The Monthly ‘Apo Aanu’ Food Bank is a monthly initiative of the I-Care Food Bank, sponsored by the Ikorodu-born Federal Lawmaker, Hon Babajimi Benson.
Beneficiaries of the legislator’s gesture were the aged, widows, single parents, unemployed youths, people living with disabilities.
Religious bodies, community development associations and other key stakeholders also nominated some of the beneficiaries of the food intervention.
Speaking on the importance of the food intervention, Director-General of I-Care Foundation, Mayor Deen Sanwo-Ola sated that it was a platform for making food accessible to the vulnerable members of the society, who are the most affected by the current food inflation in the country.
Many of the beneficiaries sang praises of JB as the federal legislator is popularly called while others prayed fervently for God’s Favour upon the soft-spoken Chairman, House Committee on Defence.
