CONSTITUENTS APPLAUD SENATOR ABIRU INTERVENTION AS FG IS SET TO COMMENCE REHABILITATION OF IKORODU-ITOIKIN ROAD

Lagos East Senatorial District constituents and stakeholders have taken to different social media platforms to applaud the Doing Good Senator, Adetokunbo Mukhail Abiru, FCA for facilitating the rehabilitation of the Ikorodu-Itoikin Road.

They particularly praised the Chairman, Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions for restoring hope to millions of residents and motorists who daily ply the ever-busy federal road.

An indication that the Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Ministry of Works and Housing was set to commence the rehabilitation of the road became rife with the mounting of the contractors project signboard at the site this weekend.

The information on the signboard reads;

Federal Republic of Nigeria (Federal Ministry of Works) Headquarters, Mabushi Abuja.
(CH.0+000 – CH 34+000) in Lagos State (WR. 16220). Contract Number: 7642.

The project board further revealed that, GELD Construction Nigeria Limited, an Abuja based construction firm is the contractor handling the road project.

One visibly elated constituent , Gbotifa wrote on his X handle; ‘Federal Rehabilitation of Ikorodu -Itokin Road (Sabo Roundabout to Itokin Market). It’s about to go down!!!’

‘Doing Good Senator, Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru. Thank you for all you do for Lagos East Senatorial District’.

Another constituent, by name Banjo wrote,

‘Thanks to Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, the going good Senator. The new face of Lagos Politics’.

Recall that Senator Abiru had in 2023 announced that the federal government would soon embark on the rehabilitation of the road, after a meeting with the then Minister for Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN.

The Banker turned politician later hinted that he had secured the assurances of the Federal Government to list the road among federal road projects in the 2024 budget.
