BRT COMMUTERS LAMENT TRAFFIC GRIDLOCK DUE TO ONGOING RENOVATION WORK ON BRT CORRIDOR AT IKORODU GARAGE

Commuters of the blue BRT in Ikorodu are not having the best of time over the past few days due to the ongoing renovation work on the Ikorodu garage end of the BRT corridors, near its terminal.

The rehabilitation work, which has been going on for over a week, has forced BRT buses conveying commuters to Ikorodu to join the perenial heavy traffic build up from Ikorodu roundabout, which sometimes extends as far as Jumofak, mostly at evenings, since the entrance to the corridor  has been blocked by the contractor towards Ikorodu garrage after Jumofak.

Passengers onboard the BRT buses now have to endure the long and unending traffic bottlleneck around the Ikorodu roundabout. Reports has it that, some commuters have had to refuse to go endure the traffic gridlock, forcing drivers to allow them alight while in traffic.

According to a commuter, a driver was almost assaulted by some commuters on Monday, May 22nd, for refusing to allow them alight in traffic. Since the renovation work commenced on the corridor, BRT drivers have had to drive through the popular Ikorodu roundabout before dropping passengers at the terminal, an experience many passengers have complained bitterly about.
