BREAKING: HON WASIU ADESHINA SIGNS 5TH IKORODU LOCAL GOVERNMENT BYE-LAW, URGES 6TH ASSEMBLY TO LEGISLATE ON SECURITY

The new Ikorodu Local Bye-law, prepared by the 5th legislative assembly of the council has been signed into law.

The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu local government, Hon Wasiu Adeshina has described the presentation of the document as epoch-making and an important day in the annals of the history of Ikorodu local government.

The 125 page document, which was presented to the Chairman, Hon Wasiu Adeshina by the House Leader’, Hon Adebowale Ajayi on behalf of his colleagues was accented to by the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu local government, Hon Wasiu Adeshina at a private ceremony held at the Ikorodu LGA Secretariat Conference room on Thursday.

Hon Adeshina, in his brief remarks at the formal presentation of the document commended the 5th legislative assembly of the council for doing a good job.

He commended the 5th Legislative arm of the council for their efforts towards presenting a formidable and time relevant law guiding the activities of Ikorodu local government.

He also admonished the 6th Legislative assembly to borrow a leaf from some great steps taken by their predecessors.

Adeshina also charged the Ikorodu Customary Court, represented by its President, Mr Wahab Bola Balogun, to make judicious use of the newly signed bye-law in the administration of justice system in the local government.

He equally called on the 6th Assembly which did the presentation to work hard in looking at the security challenges in the community by giving Ikorodu local government a new bye-law that will mete out due punishments to cultists and other recalcitrant residents so that peace and tranquility can return to the council area.

Leader of the House, Hon Adebowale Adebola Ajayi commended the immediate past House Leader, Hon Salmon for working very hard with the 5th Legislative arm in getting the document ready before the expiration of their term.

The presentation event was witnessed by top local government staffs namely, HRO- Mr Taofeek, Council Manager- Engr Martins Odupitan, House Leader- Adebowale Adebola Ajayi,
Mr Wahab Bola Balogun- President, Customary Court and NULGE executives.
