The debate about who is fit and qualified to enter into the shoes of the late Asiwaju of Ikorodu and legal luminary, Asiwaju B.O Benson has finally been put to rest, as the Ayangburen and Paramount ruler of Ikorodu Division, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi has installed Otunba Steve Adewale Anifowose as the new Asiwaju of Ikorodu Kingdom.
The installation of the new Asiwaju of Ikorodu Kingdom is coming almost one year since the departure of Late Chief Babatunde Olusola Benson, the erstwhile Asiwaju of Ikorodu land.
Also, his beautiful wife, Mrs Funmi Anifowose, a US trained Nursing professional was also installed as the Yeye Asiwaju of Ikorodu Kingdom, amidst pomp and pageantry.
Asiwaju Steve Anifowose, the new Asiwaju of Ikorodu Kingdom is a trained Pharmacist from the prestigious Ohio Northern University College of Pharmacy and Xavia University of Louisiana, College of Pharmacy, New Orleans, Louisiana both in the USA. He is an astute business man and is a Scion of the Lasunwon Royal Family of Ikorodu.
Speaking at the formal installation event, the Ayangburen and Paramount ruler of Ikorodu Kingdom noted that, the ‘search’ team for late B.O Benson’s replacement all recommended Anifowose, describing him as a golden fish that has no hiding place.
The Olotu Ebi of Lasunwon Royal Family, Chief Wasiu Layembi Oyenuga also gave a public attestation to the pedigree of Asiwaju Anifowose as a distinguished prince from the Lasunwon Royal Family. He thanked Oba Shotobi for the honour done to the family, through the installation of Asiwaju Anifowose.
The historic installation ceremony was attended by the immediate family members of the honouree, friends and well wishers from far and near.
Also, Ikorodu’s premier social club, Oriwu Club member, where Asiwaju Anifowose belongs also turned up in their large numbers to identify with one of their owns.
The event was also graced by a retinue of royal fathers from across Ikorodu Division and beyond.
The new Asiwaju of Ikorodu Kingdom, Asiwaju Steve Adewale Anifowose was born to Late Chief Zachaeous Akogun Anifowose Onabanjo of the Lasunwon Royal Family of Ikorodu and late Mrs Taiwo Anifowose (Nee Anibaba) in Ikorodu.
He is a member of Oriwu Club, Ikorodu, Ikoyi Club, Yoruba Tennis Club, Island Club and Lagos Lawn Tennis Club. He is the Patron of Ikorodu-Oga Descendants, Washington DC, USA and Patron of Eko Club International, Maryland and Virginia.
He is married to Yeye Asiwaju Funmi Anifowose and their marriage is blessed with lovely children.
