ADESHINA BREAKS 33 YEAR OLD JINX, LAYS FOUNDATION FOR IKORODU COUNCIL CHAPEL, PLEDGES COMMITMENT TO MORE INFRASTRUCTURAL PROJECTS

For the first time in over 33 years, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon Wasiu Adeshina has broken the jinx of adding additional structures to the existing buildings in the council Secretariat.

It would be recalled that the last Chairman of the council who built additional structures within the Secretariat was the late Hon Awolesi in the early 90s.

Adeshina disclosed this during the foundation laying ceremony of the Council Christian Chapel yesterday.

Addressing leaders of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), members of Staff Christian community and other stakeholders at the event, Adeshina noted that the project was historic and expressed gratitude to God for giving him the opportunity to make history by breaking the over three decades old jinx.

“Apart from the Awolesi administration that built the Executive Chairman office here, no other past Chairmen in this local government laid another foundation and we want to thank God for being part of this history’, he stated.

The Council boss further promised to ensure not to leave any stone unturned in ensuring that the chapel building project is built to standard.

Adeshina noted that the project was a demonstration of his administration’s commitment to touching every aspect of life, particularly the need for a befitting place of worship for members of the Christian Staff community.

‘We have the believe that every parts of the Ikorodu Local Government council should experience a touch of our administration’, he added.

Speaking further, he promised that the foundation laying ceremony for the Legislative Building of the Council would soon be done, once all necessary paper works are completed.

Concluding, Adeshina promised that the Chapel project would be completed within the next six months.

He equally used the opportunity to reel out some of upcoming projects. They include, the reconstruction of Solomade Street, the reconstruction of Dada Street in Itunpate, the surfacing of Arowolo Street, empowerment schemes for Market Men and Women among others.

Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Ikorodu Chapter, Rev. Joseph Oduola applauded Adeshina for providing a dwelling place for God within the Council Secretariat. He noted that embarking on the divine assignment was an indication that the Council Chairman was chosen by God.

Speaking on behalf of the Counci Christian Community, Pastor Adebayo Idowu, Head of the Ikorodu Local Government Christian Staffs, expressed gratitude to God and Hon. Wasiu Adesina for yielding himself to be used by God to build a befitting place of worship for God.

A major highpoint of the ceremony was the formal foundation laying exercise performed by wife of the Executive Chairman, Mrs Abolanle Adeshina who led the congregation in high praises to God for making the project a reality.

The event was witnessed by the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ikorodu Chapter, Christian Staff Fellowship members, Senior Management Staff and some APC Leaders.
