ACCESS TO CLEAN WATER: IKORODU LG BOSS, HON WASIU ADESHINA COMMISSIONS TEN BOREHOLE PROJECTS ACROSS COUNCIL AREAS IN ONE DAY

In a demonstration of his administration’s commitment to the delivery of democratic dividends to residents of Ikorodu Local Council communities, Hon Wasiu Adeshina has commissioned ten borehole water projects constructed by the local government and facilitated by the Councillors of Wards A to G.

The commissioning exercise took the Council boss and his team of Councillors and Supervisors to the seven (7) wards of the council.

The team were received with joy and excitement at all the communities visited, with residents and beneficiaries commending Adeshina for bringing succour to them through the water projects.

The first point of call was Onashelu Street, Gberigbe where the Council Chairman commissioned a 25-year-old resuscitated borehole that has not been functioning for over 12 years, leading to scarcity of clean and potable water in the community.

He also commissioned the newly built borehole project at Eleshin, which was facilitated by the councilor of the ward, Hon. Dimeji Oshikoya

The team moved swiftly to Sholafun Street, Anibaba in Ward F where the Chairman commissioned another borehole project, facilitated by the Councilor of the ward, Hon. Buraimoh Oluwakemi.

Similarly, Hon Adeshina commissioned a new borehole for residents of of Iti-Liwe community in Ward C, facilitated by the councilor, Hon. Omotayo Awolesi.

The last point of call was Lowa Estate community, in Ward B, where the Council boss also commissioned a newly constructed borehole water project facilitated by the Councilor of the ward Hon. Mutiat Fatuga-Omole.

Speaking of borehole water projects, Adeshina said,
‘today’s commissioning marks another significant contribution to infrastructural development in Ikorodu. It is another record for our well-known tradition of long-lasting legacy projects which have always been impactful to the residents. The commissioning of the ten (10) boreholes are indeed timely and necessary to meet the yearnings of the people. I can tell you that your waiting days are over and I applaud you for your tolerance and patience ‘, he said.


Concluding, he charged the CDAs and other stakeholders in communities where the water projects were sited to take ownership of the boreholes in order to ensure that it serves the people for a long time.

Prominent members of the Chairman’s team was the Vice Chairman, Hon Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba, Secretary to the Local Government, Hon Lateef Afinih and the Ikorodu Division APC Women Leader, Alh Rasheedat Bello.

Senior Council management team also joined the Council Chairman in the historic project commissionings.
