APC MEMBERSHIP REGISTRATION: REP BENSON CHARGES IKORODU PARTY EXCOS TO DELIVER HIGHEST MEMBERSHIP REGISTRATION IN NIGERIA

As the All Progressives Congress continues in its membership registration drive, the Chairman, House Committee on Defense, Rep Babajimi Benson has challenged the party hierarchy across Ikorodu Federal Constituency to ensure they register the highest number of party members in Nigeria.

Benson gave the challenge on Thursday during a periodic meeting with the party leaders in his Constituency Office in Ikorodu.

The Federal lawmaker reminded the leaders of how their hardwork resulted in the highest number of local government votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 general elections, thus charging them to do better by breaking APC national membership registration record in the on-going membership registration exercise.

He noted that while the 2023 presidential election feat was commendable, the leaders should set a national record by making a statement with the APC membership registration, as a way of proving to the President that Ikorodu is truly above other local governments in Nigeria.

Rep Benson reminded the leaders of the popular saying credited to the former Lagos State Governor and immediate past Minister for Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN who posited that the reward for success is more work.

The Ikorodu Federal lawmaker also used the opportunity to commend the Council Chairmen for driving the registration exercise within their Council areas through NIN registration.

He further reminded them that the impressive performances of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency in past elections was responsible for the massive development projects he has been able to facilitate so far, while charging them to do more so as to make it easy for him to reciprocate their gesture and loyalty to the party through more project facilitation.

‘I want Mr. President to see the APC membership registration records and exclaim, “Ikorodu, again” on seeing how well Ikorodu has performed’, he said.

Benson concluded his remarks by reeling out a series of developmental projects coming into the Constituency in 2026 to the excitement of all attendees.

Corroborating Rep Benson, Director-General of the iCare Foundation, Mayor Deen Sanwoola on the sideline of the event stated that Ikorodu Federal Constituency had not seen anything yet, pledging that 2026 is loaded with people-centred initiatives and project from the organization.

Earlier, the party hierarchy across Ikorodu Division earlier passed a collective vote of confidence on the performing lawmaker, while commending his numerous legislative and developmental strides.
