The 2025 Ipakodo Day Celebration may have come and gone, but the positive vibes generated by the annual event are yet to settle.
A major highpoint of this year’s event was the presentation of special recognition and distinguished achievers awards to three deserving personalities and one corporate organization, by the Sekuamde of Ipakodo, Oba Engr. Basiru Aremu Sotonwa.
One of these three personalities is the incumbent Chief Medical Director of Ikorodu General Hospital, Dr. Taiwo Hassan.
Hassan, a Prince of Ipakodo, was honored with the Distinguished Achiever award for his exemplary leadership since his appointment as the Chief Medical Director of Ikorodu General Hospitalal.
Speaking on the significance of the recognition award confered on the Princely Medical Doctor, Oba Sotonwa stated that, Hassan has been a proud Ipakodo son who has made the community proud within Ikorodu Division and Lagos State as a whole through his exemplary and meritorious service as a public health practitioner.
Oba Sotonwa also noted that the exemplary leadership, excellent performance, and overall upgrade recorded at the General Hospital, Ikorodu, under his leadership made Hassan, whose late father was the first Sekumade of Ipakodo eminently qualified for the award.
Presenting the award on behalf of the Sekuamde of Ipakodo, Rep Babajimi Benson commended Hassan for being a good ambassador of Ipakodo Kingdom and Ikorodu Division in general, urging him not to relent in his exemplary service in the public health sector.
Other awardees were the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu West LCDA, Hon Sulaiman Kazeem Olanrewaju, Chief Mrs Sekinat Dosumu-Solebo, Apesin of Ipakodo and Yakojeun Restaurant, Ipakodo.
