
The Chairman, House Committee on Defense, Hon. Babajimi Benson has delivered yet another landmark project for the teeming Ikorodu Division youths.
The project is a fully equipped, air-conditioned ICT Training Centre with 150 beand-new laptop computers, free internet access, and a standby generating set, aimed at promoting digital and ICT learning among the youths.
Benson in his brief address to the gathering, stated that the project represented another dividend of democracy, under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He subsequently challenged Ikorodu Division youths to take advantage of the Centre to empower themselves with legitimate digital skills and shun cyber crimes.

In his welcome speech, Chairman of Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG), Arch. Taiwo Kara described the event was not just the unveiling of a structure but the beginning of a new chapter in advancing knowledge, innovation and digital empowerment to Ikorodu people.
‘We are gathered there to celebrate vision, leadership, commitment to development, embodied in the name of this centre, which was facilitated in by our very dear brother and father, Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson MHR as a constituency project for the development and growth of Ikorodu Division’.
‘The ICT center before us today is more than brick and mortar, it is a gateway to opportunities for our youths, students, and the wiser community. It will serve as a hub where digital skills are nurtured, ideas are incubated, and the next generation of leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs will be empowered’, he added.

Kara express gratitude to Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson for this laudable contribution, while assuring him that his name will be heard not only on the edifice but in the heart of many youths, whose lives will be transformed through the opportunity the center provides.
‘As we commission this project today, let us all dedicate ourselves to the noble cause of education, digital advancement, and community development. Together, we can ensure that this facility achieves its purpose and impacts generations yet unborn’, he concluded.

Commendind Rep Benson for embarking on the impactful project, a former Lagos State Head of Service, Alh. Babatunde Rotinwa stated that, learning does not stop; noting that, even at 80, he was still learning.
‘I want to advise everyone here present that what is more important is to go back home and encourage your children to come and learn this digital skills. Sometimes you don’t even need to leave your house before you can work for companies in Europe, in U.S. and earn your salary in dollars’, he stated.

Member, representing Ikorodu Constituency i in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Ogunleye Gbolahan in his remarks thanked Benson for complementing the efforts of the state government in bringing development to Ikorodu Division.
He said, ‘Hon. Babajimi Benson didn’t just start his impactful projects in our division. Like the compere said, if we start reeling out the projects carried out by our MHR and our distinguished Senator, here today, that will be all we would do because they are too numerous’.

Similarly, a former Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, a former Deputy Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University of Science and Technology, Dr. Olumide Metilelu from Imota LCDA and Chief Adewale Ajala from Ijede LCDA, all representing Ikorodu Constituency 2 praised Benson for facilitating the ICT centre, while appealing to him to replicate the facility in the other Councils in the Constituency.

Shortly after the commissioning, Benson led dignitraties on a tour of the facility.
