‘THANK YOU’ VISIT: AYANGBUREN OF IKORODU, SENATOR OGUNLEWE, HON. AKINSOLA LAUD FORMER COUNCIL BOSS, BUILDER BANJO’S LEGACY

The Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Engr. Dr. Kabiru Adewale Shotobi has commended a former Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, Hon.Adeola Adebisi Banjo for recognizing and showing appreciation to perty leaders and community leaders after leaving office.

The monarch praised Banjo’s vision, noting that he looked beyond the present and thought about the future, citing the building of the Legislative Chamber in the Council Secretariat as a notable example of Banjo’s impactful work.

The royal father also commended Banjo for his legacy in Ikorodu North, particularly highlighting his contributions to the growth of the area.

Concluding, Oba Shotobi expressed appreciation to the former Council boss for the courtesy visit and the presentation of frame to the monarch.

Earlier, Hon. Banjo stated that the monarch’s reign has been a living flame of heritage that refuses to die, describing the monarch as a bridge between the past and the present.

Banjo noted that the monarch’s ten-year reign has been marked by vision, courage, and fatherhood, lifting the kingdom’s name, preserving dignity, and defending heritage.

Banjo also.pledged his continued readiness for service.

‘Though I have taken my bow from office, Kabiyesi, I do not step away from service. Standing, serving, working, and walking with a company of like minds whose resolve is unshaken, that the best of us shall define the rest of us politically, economically, and artistically, I remain here, delivering the commands of your sacred stool’.

He prayed for the monarch’s continued success and the prosperity of the kingdom, invoking God’s blessings on the throne, the stool, and the kingdom of Ikorodu.

The former council chairman also paid a ‘Thank You’ Visit to a former Senator, former Minister for Works and Member of the Governors’ Advisory Council in Lagos State, Kingsley Adeseye Ogunlewe who also doubles as an Apex Leader of the APC in Ikorodu Division.

Banjo reaffirmed his commitment to serving the community, even after leaving office, and pledged to continue working towards the betterment of Ikorodu.

In his address to Senator Kingsley Adeseye Ogunlewe, who received the former Council boss in his Igbogbo country home, Banjo stated that his journey in office was not solitary, as he found strength and guidance in the elder’s steady gaze and unwavering support.

He stressed that leadership is not sustained by power alone but by the embrace of those whose loyalty is without price and whose wisdom is without end.

Hon. Banjo shared that the elder’s hands had been pillars to him, firm when he wavered, gentle when he faltered, and strong when he needed lifting.

Furthermore, he emphasized that he had taken his bow from office, but not from the journey, and pledged to continue serving, working, and walking with like-minded individuals.

Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Adebimpe Akinsola, former Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism & Culture, commended Hon. Adeola Adebisi Banjo for his exceptional leadership qualities, particularly his humility.

She noted that he stood out with his sense of humility, a trait she had observed during his tenure as Executive Secretary of Ikorodu North LCDA.

Hon.Adebimpe stated that his performance as Chairman of the council was impressive, and he set a commendable precedent by showing appreciation to his leaders and supporters after leaving office, a standard others should emulate.

Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe praised Hon.Banjo, commending him for his attentiveness in paying a courtesy visit.

He attributed Banjo’s good character to his upbringing, noting that his mother was his school daughter, and described him as “born and trained well,” emphasizing his humility and commendable performance.

The significant moment of the event was the presentation of the award to Hon. Adeola Adebisi Banjo by Senator Kingsley Adeseye.
