2024 BUDGET: IKORODU LOCAL GOVERNMENT PARLEYS STAKEHOLDERS, AS COUNCIL BOSS ASSURES OF INCLUSIVENESS

The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon Wasiu Adeshina has assured residents and stakeholders of the commitment of his administration to an all-inclusive 2024 budget design and implementation.

Adeshina gave the assurance yesterday while addressing hundreds of stakeholders across Ikorodu Local Government during the 2024 Budget Stakeholders Meeting held at the Council Secretariat.

Hon Adeshina openly agreed with those who spoke at the event on the specific projects that should be given priority in the 2023 Budget of the Council.

The event which is an annual stakeholders meeting organized by the council Management, to get direct inputs of stakeholders into its budget featured very robust discussion and quality inputs from those in attendance.

Adesina expressed gratitude to stakeholders for their robust inputs while stressing the significance of the stakeholders’ contributions in the budgeting process.

The Council boss had earlier rendered the performance index of the 2023 budget to the audience. He highlighted some of the projects already implemented to include construction of roads, classrooms and drainages among other developmental projects.

A former Lagos State Head of Service and Chairman of Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, Bashorun Babatunde Rotinwa lamented the spate of street trading in the Council area, thus making case for the reconstruction of Sabo Market, to accommodate more traders.

Similarly, a former Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Alhaji Junaid Owokoodu emphasized the budget as a roadmap and called for increased focus on security.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Head of the Budget of the Council, Mr Kazeem Adesanya emphasized the need for stakeholders inputs into the Councils budget, with a view to achieving optimal impact on residents.

He stressed the need for the budget to be a true reflection of the yearnings of the people.

Dignitaries at the even includes Hon. Lanre Balogun, Alhaji Musa, Alhaji Waheed Animashaun, Alhaji Owokoodu, Iyaloja Osho among others.

Senior Council Staffs led by the Council Manager, Engr Martins Odupitan also witnessed the event.
