Encomiums have continued to pour in for a distinguished Ikorodu son, grassroots politician and Permanent Member, Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr Saheed Ibikunle, popularly known as Omoluabi.
The latest goodwill message came in from the Ikorodu-born Senator Tokunbo Abiru, representing Lagos East Senatorial District at the Senate of the Federal Republic.
In a goodwill message titled, ‘Senator Tokunbo Abiru Celebrates Dr Saheed Ibikunle On His Birthday’, the banker-turned Senator described Ibikunle as a brilliant and pragmatic personality, whose advise during and after the bye-election was valuable to him.
‘Dear Otunba Dr. Saheed O. Ibikunle, I join numerous friends and families to celebrate you on this auspicious occasion of your birthday’.
‘Your brilliant and pragmatic advise to the TACT team during and after the bye-election has given me a soft landing in this role as the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District at the Nigerian Senate’.
‘I wish you many happy returns in good health and abundance of grace. Congratulations my dear aburo, Omoluabi’, said Senator Mukhail Adetikunbo Abiru.
Earlier, Hon Jimi Benson, representing Ikorodu federal constituency at the House of Reps also sent his goodwill message to the Ikorodu born academia.
‘Cheering Birthday wishes to Dr. Saheed Ibikunle (Omoluabi), an astute academia, seasoned educational administrator. As you attain a new age, I pray it is filled with God’s grace, protection, and unflinching mercy. Happy Birthday, Doc’, the message reads.
He was first hosted to a ‘surprise’ birthday’ ceremony early on Wednesday morning by his siblings who invited a popular veteran Yoruba Ewi crooner and traditional musician, Pa Ajobi-ewe to entertain him on his birthday.
Shortly after, staffs and students of UEC College, where he is the Chairman also stormed his residence with sonorous birthday songs spiced with saxophonists rendition. They later presented him with birthday gifts on behalf of the school management and students.
Dr Ibikunle, a former Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Educational Administration was born to late Pa Yekeen Ibikunle Olumade Family of in Ogaolu Compound in Ikorodu. Dr. Saheed Oladapo Ibikunle is an erudite scholar and seasoned educational administrator with over 30 years of experience.
He is a 1992 graduate of Physics from the prestigious University of Lagos. Saheed O. Ibikunle had his PGD & M.Sc in Computer Science, M.Ed in Educational Administration & Planning and Ph.D in Education Management all from the University of Lagos.
He comes on the Board of Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board having served in various capacities such as Senior Legislative Aide to Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa. Member, Governing Council, Lagos State Polytechnic. He was appointed in 2011 as Senior Special Assistant on Education Management in recognition of his robust and promising profile by the Babatunde Fashola, (SAN) led administration.
