WOMEN INCLUSION: ENITAN JESSICA- OBA EMERGES IKORODU WEST LCDA FIRST FEMALE HOUSE LEADER

History was made in Ikorodu West LCDA of Lagos State yesterday as the councillors at their inaugural sitting on Wednesday elected its first female house leader, in person of Hon Enitan Jessica-Oba.

Hon Oba, Councillor Ward A- Ipakodo emerged the house leader through a consensus of the entire legislative members of the house.

Prior to her emergence, she had served the council as Supervisory Councillor for Women and Poverty Alleviation’ (WAPA), a position she got after losing the party’s ticket to her predecessor, Hon Saliu Olaomo a.k.a GOS in the 2017 party primaries.

The house also elected Hon. Daisi Batife as Deputy Leader, while Hon. Abimbola Owomilowomi and Hon. Abimbola Bello emerged as the Majority Leader and Chief Whip of the House, respectively.
