The ancient city of Ibadan played host to royal fathers from Lagos, Ogun and Oyo States, South-West Nigeria, as IKODASS Chairman, Otunba Ganiyu Olusegun Abiru’s handsome crown prince, Olowofela Ismail ties the knot with his beautiful damsel, Oluwademilade Adewole in what can be perfectly termed a wedding royale.
The royal root of the Abirus as Ikorodu prince came tomthe fore, as four highly revered monarchs from Ikorodu division were physically on ground to receive Oluwademilade into the Ikorodu royal family. They were led by the paramount ru, er of and Ayangbure of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Oba Semiu Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, the Olubehse of Ibeshe, Oba Richard Ogunsanya and Ologijo of Ogijo in Sagamu LG of Ogun State, Oba Kazeem Gbadamosi. A prominent monarch from Ogbomoso and Vice Chairman, Oyo State Council of Obas, HRM Oba was also present from the Adewole family side.
The 2-in-1 colourful engagement and wedding reception depicts glamour and royalty in all ramifications. The Abiru family formally requested the blessings of the Adewole family for the union of the two lovebirds through the traditional marriage rites. The request was accepted and approved by the rank and file of the Adewoles family.
The young couple dazzzled in their well-made beautiful traditional attires and were the cynosure of all eyes. The bride, Oluwademilade stole the show as the light-skinned bride danced to the admiration of family members, guests and well-wishers.
The climax of the wedding ceremony was the reception which commenced with sonorous songs. The band ushered the couple’s parents into the hall and high tables with sonorous songs. Otunba Abiru, a knwon good dancer made a good account of himself as the socialite and retired Lagos State permanent Secretary and Clerk of the Lagos Stwte House of Assembly wowed guests with his unique dance steps.
Enters Oluwademilade and Olowofela with their retinue of beautiful bridal train and handsome grooms men. The lovely couple who could not hide their joy on their special day held guests spell bound with their well-rehearsed choreographed dancing steps. It was an herculean task before the event compere could ‘force’ the couple to their reserved seats.
The colourful wedding ceremony which was graced by the who is whos in the royal, social and political circles of Lagos, Ikorodu and Ibadan will remain a talk-of-the-town for a while in the ancient city of Ibadan.
Otunba Abiru’s immediate constituency, the Ikorodu Oga Development Association, IKODASS and its executive members stormed the wedding in large number, confirming the wide acceptance of Abiru as a leader loved by his people.
