As preparations towards this year’s annual Ikorodu Oga Day Celebration continues, there is an indication that this year’s edition of the anual week-long community day celebration will be a watesrhed inthe history of Ikorodu Oga Day celebration, as Sagamu-born Nigeria’s foremost publisher of children story and educational books, Otunba Yinka Lawal-Solarin is billed to be the Chairman at this year’s trand finale event.

Confirming this development to Ikorodu Oga Radio, the Chairman of Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS), Otunba Ganiyu Olusegun Abiru, noted that the move to have Otunba Solarin chair the grand-finale of the annual celebration was in line with the renewed bond between Sagamu and Ikorodu which was demonstrated by the recent historic visit of the Akarigbo of Remo Land, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi to Ikorodu.

‘What we have done is to toe the path already set by our Kabiyesi, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu during the recent visit of the Akarigbo of Remo Land to Ikorodu where Otunba Yinka Lawal-Solarin was publicly presented as the traditional ambassador between Ikorodu and Sagamu, leading to the conferment of the Bashorun-Oga title on him. Consequently, KODASS is simply working towards strengthening this renewed bond between Sagamu and Ikorodu’, he said.

Abiru added that to further demonstrate this renewed accord, a delegation of Ikorodu sons and daughters,  under the auspices of IKODASS will be attending this year’s Sagamu Day celebration slated for October 26, while Sagamu delegates will also be attending the grand-finale of Ikorodu Oga Day event on Saturday, 16th November,  2019.
