IKORODU LG FORMALLY OPENS BID FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SOLOMADE STREET, STAKEHOLDERS COMMEND EXERCISE

The process leading to the construction of Solomade Street road project, behind Oba Ayangburen Palace in Ikorodu Local Government has begun in earnest, with the formal opening of bids for the project.

The formal opening of bid for the rehabilitation of the road was conducted today at the conference hall of the Council secretariat by the Council’s procurement officer, Mr Ogunlana Olasunkanmi Sulayman and was witnessed by Mr Balogun Bolanle Director, Lagos State Public Procurement Agency

The exercise was presided over by the Executive Chairman, Hon Wasiu Adeshina, who was ably represented by the Supervisor for Works, Hon Safiu Murishiku.

At the end of the brief exercise, all stakeholders in attendance praised the transparent manner in which the bid was opened and expressed satisfaction with the process.

At the end of the exercise, two valid bidders were selected out of the six applicants, while four were disqualified for detailing by applying for projects separate from the ones advertised for.

Meanwhile, out of the two bidders, only one of the bidders, Messers YELAT Nigeria Lyd submitted a valid bid with relevant documents and payment. However, De’raaz Nigeria Ltd application was declared invalid for not enclosing bid and other relevant documents.

Representatives of the two bidders who witnessed the exercise, Messers YELAT Nigeria Ltd, represented by Alh Lateef Adelakun and Messers
DE’RAAZ Nigeria Ltd, represented by Alh Abdul Olusanya both expressed satisfaction with the bid process.

Also in attendance at the event was the Secretary to the Local Government, Alh Lateef Afinih, represented by Com Omotayo Mabunmi and the Council Engr Oladapo Oluseyi.

Others in attendance were the Supervisor for Budget and Revenue, Hon Lateef Oyefusi, Supervisor for Information, Hon Yakub Ajalogun and Senior Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman on Women Affairs, Alh Rashidat Bello.

The exercise was also witnessed by the Council’s Legal Officer, Mrs Oluwatoyin M. Dada, staffs of the procurement unit among others.
