The Chairman, House of Reps Committee on Defence, Hon Babajimi Benson has assured concerned residents of Ikorodu Division that the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu will soon consider more Ikorodu Division indigenes as Commissioners under the current administration.
Hon Benson described the allocation of just one Commissioner slot to the Division by the Governor as a mistake which would be rectified very soon.
He gave the assurance on Saturday, while fielding questions from Ikorodu Oga Radio correspondent during the inspection of on-going road construction works at Agbele and Erunwen Communities in Ikorodu Local Government.
Speaking to newsmen, Hon Benson stated that, ‘from the last general elections result, if you go by local government by local government or Federal Constituency by Federal Constituency, we came first. We have not always been first, but during the electioneering campaigns, we promised the electorates that, if they make us number one, we will ensure we get between three to four commissioners slot for Ikorodu Division.
‘Unfortunately, we were allotted just one slot, it is a mistake which will be rectified. Our Governor likes data, he likes facts and informed and all hands are current deck. The leadership is also on top of the matter. I want to assure the good people of Ikorodu Division that more slots will be allotted to us very soon’, he added.
