The support base for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC for Lagos State House of Assembly, Ikorodu Constituency 1 seat is gradually gathering momentum, with support coming from critical sectors of Ikorodu Constituency 1.
The latest support and endorsement is coming from the umbrella association of all market men and women across Ikorodu who have formally pledged their loyalty and support for the election of Gbolahan Ogunleye at the 2023 House of Assembly elections.
The formal endorsement took place at a consultative meeting with the leadership of the market men and women hosted by the Iyaloja-General of Ikorodu Division, Alh (Mrs) Taofeekat Allison on Wednesday.
In his speech at the meeting, Ogunleye expressed gratitude to the market men and women for hosting him. He also solicited for the support of the market men and women for his candidacy, ahead of the 2023 general elections.
He equally promised to pursue programmes and initiatives that would uplift the well-being of women and traders, across Ikorodu Constituency 1.
Responding, the Iyaloja-General of Ikorodu Division, Alh Taofeekat Allison assured Ogunleye of the unalloyed support of her members for his victorious outing at the forthcoming elections.
She however pleaded with the APC candidate to ensure he kept to his promises to market men and women in Ikorodu after his successful election.
The meeting ended with the promise of massive support for Gbolahan, popularly called Oga by the entire leadership of the association.
