IKORODU-BORN FOOTBALL STAR, ASSISAT OSHOLA DUMPS ARSENAL LADIES FOR CHINESE CLUB, DALIAN QUANJIAN

Super Falcons and former Arsenal and Liverpool Ladies striker, Assisat Oshoala has signed a one year contract with Chinese female football club; Dalian Quanjian, after rumours broke out earlier in the year that the reigning African Female footballer of the year was unhappy with her pay package at the Arsenal Ladies Football Club. Dalian Quanjian; Assisat’s new club is situated North of Beijing and managed by former PSG Coach, Farid Bensiti.

Her Media representative, Tobi Onayade, had on behalf of last year’s African Women Championship highest goal scorer in Cameroun, dispelled rumours that Asisat would leave Arsenal, even if there are offers, adding that her focus is to prove a point this season in England after her slow start. The player herself also denied the report when confronted by a Nigerian sport journalist, saying that the transfer only existed in the imagination of the reporter.

Details of Oshoala’s at Dalian reveals that the Super Falcons striker will earn N7million monthly for the next 12 months, almost 7 times more than what she was receiving at Arsenal Ladies.

Oshoala had signed for the Arsenal Ladies in January 2016, after completing a transfer from Liverpool Ladies, winning the Women’s FA Cup in her first season, and scoring only two goals in 11 appearances during her one year spell at the club.
