Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS) has donated essential food items to Lagos State owned rehabilitation center at Owutu in Ikorodu west LCDA.

Representatives of the community based organisation, led by it’s indefatigable IKODASS chairman Otunba Ganiyu Olusegun Abiru and some exco members presented the food items to the rehabilitation home on Thursday 17th December.

Recall that the organization’s annual 2020 Ikorodu Oga day celebration was characterized by the donation of free school uniforms, notebook and borehole to meet identified needs within the community.

In his brief remark, shortly after the presentation Otunba Abiru noted that the presentation was done in the spirit of the Christmas and in fufillment of IKODASS community service initiative and support for the less-privileged in the community.

Abiru however advised those  have loved ones in the home who are now okay to endeavour to go and take them away because people are brought in almost every second, so they should go and take their loved ones to give room for new patients.

He added that those with loved ones as inmates to visit them often as a way of giving them some kind of psychological encouragement and morale booster.

‘Let them know that they are not alone. This is the second time IKODASS is doing this. We started last year and we hope to continue’.

Abiru also sent an important Christmas message to residents of Ikorodu community.

‘My ‘end-of-the-year message to the Ikorodu people, is that Covid-19 is still around, everyone should take care of themselves. This is a time where we have to take personal responsibilities. The government is trying their best, so we should also try to help them in any way we can so that this virus won’t get out of hand’, he concluded.
