HOW TINUBU APPOINTED ME AS COMMISSIONER WITHOUT KNOWING ME- SENATOR TOKUNBO ABIRU

Until yesterday, Saturday 17th April when he let the cat out of the bag, not many are understand the genesis of the cordial father-son relationship between the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his political godson, Senator Tokunbo Abiru, Chairman Senate Committee on Industries and Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Tokunbo Abiru, FCA.

Abiru made the startling revelation to the chagrin of Muslim faithfuls and political leaders across Lagos East Senatorial who graced the maiden Annual Ramadan Tafsir, organised by the Ikorodu born federal legislator at his Constituency office in Ikorodu.

Explaining, Abiru stated that a friend of his requested for his CV when the state was shopping for a qualified and experienced Commissioner of Finance for the State in 2011. He noted that, he reluctantly gave his CV to his friend after days of pestering believing that nothing was going to come out of it.

According to the Senator, he was surprised to have been shortlisted and sworn into office alongside other members of the State cabinet as the successful candidate three weeks afterwards without any prior meeting with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Abiru requested that the Muslim clerics in attendance to pray for the success of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential ambition, noting that he is a beneficiary of the APC leader’s talent hunting political sagacity, through which he has been able to discover many past and serving political office holders in Lagos State and at the federal level.

He concluded by openly announcing his unalloyed support and commitment to the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential ambition, reiterating that among many presidential aspirants that have so far declared interest in the presidential ticket, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the most qualified in terms of ability to manage the complexities and peculiarities of the Nigerian nation.
