ENDORSEMENT GALORE AS HON JIMI BENSON FLAGS OFF SECOND TERM CAMPAIGN, PLEDGES TO DOUBLE PERFORMANCE

Member, representing Ikorodu federal constituency at the House of Reps, Hon Babajimi Benson has flagged off his second term campaign bid to represent the good people of Ikorodu federal constituency at the lower chamber of the national assembly, ahead of the February 16th national assembly elections.

Jimi Benson’s official campaign flag off which took place at the Ita Elewa open ground, opposite the Ikorodu post office was witnessed by thousands of APC leaders, party faithfuls and JB’s supporters across the entire Ikorodu division’s one local government and five local council development areas.

APC chieftains at the flag off event took turns to applaud the impressive performance and exemplary leadership style of Hon Jimi Benson, while pledging their unalloyed support and commitments to his re-election campaign.

In the words of a former deputy governor of Lagos State, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, ‘Jimi Benson is a performer who has done Ikorodu proud and deserves a second term in office, on the grounds of his exemplary first term performance’.

Prince Ogunleye noted that though Jimi Benson represents Ikorodu people at Abuja, he was also very much in touch with his constituency, always providing necessary information and regular feedbacks to party leaders and residents on happenings at the lower chamber of the national assembly.

Corroborating Prince Ogunleye’s position, a former secretary to the State Government, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Bashorun remarked that, Jimi Benson’s success at the forthcoming poll was a walk over, going by his outstanding achievements. Bashorun also pleaded with members of the party who still nursed grievances against the party due to the outcome of the party primaries to sheath their sword and work for the success of the party at the general elections.

Also speaking at the event, Hon SOB Agunbiade, majority leader, Lagos State House of Assembly and candidate of the APC Ikorodu constituency 1 house of assembly stated that, APC is one big family that will continue to come out victorious at elections. ‘In unity we stand, progressively we will win’, he noted.

Earlier, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, Majority Leader, House of Representatives congratulated the people of Ikorodu for having such an exemplary representative like Jimi Benson to represent their interest at the green chamber. He added that, in his almost sixteen years at the lower chamber of the national assembly, he was yet to come across an outstanding first term legislator like Honourable Jimi Benson.

The four-term House of Reps member said, ‘I have been in the house of reps for sometime. Whenever we have first-term members at the House of Reps, we teach them. But, your representative, Jimi Benson is totally different, he is the one teaching us a lot of things. Despite being a first-term legislator, I learn a lot from him’, he submitted.

In his brief address at the declaration, JB stated that his first term success was made possible by the immense support and prayers of his constituents, across Ikorodu federal constituency. He added that, his main second term agenda was to continue to put smiles on the faces of the good people of Ikorodu division.

Benson equally assured party faithfuls that his second term in office will provide the opportunity for him to reach many more residents of Ikorodu division, with the dividends of democracy.

Hon Benson also admonished party members to ensure they vote for the three APC candidates namely, President Muhammed Buhari for President, Hon Bayo Oshinowo for Senate and his humble self as the House of Representatives candidate at the Presidential and National Assembly on the February 16th general elections.

He also solicited support for the party’s governorship candidate, Babajide Sanwoolu, Hon SOB Agunbiade and Hon Saka Sholaja ahead of the March 2nd governorship and house of assembly elections in the state.
