ECONOMIC HARDSHIP: AGAIN, EKO CLUB INT’L DISTRIBUTES FOOD PALLIATIVES TO RESIDENTS OF SHASHA COMMUNITY IN LAGOS

As part of its ongoing food palliative outreach to cushion the negative impact of the current economic hardship on vulnerable residents of Lagos State, Eko Club International on Thursday continued its compassionate efforts by distributing essential food items to residents of Shasha community in Alimosho Local Government.

Chairman of the project, Dr. Tayo Ogunyemi, while addressing residents of Shasha community in Alimosho Local Government stated that the club, comprising of Lagos State indigenes who are based abroad, were deeply concerned about the economic challenges confronting the country and the difficulties many citizens were experiencing in accessing basic necessities, especially food.

He expressed the club’s solidarity with the people and announced that, under the leadership of Hon. Saheed Olushi, all members of Eko Club International and the ex-presidents had contributed funds to purchase food packages for distribution to those in need.

He noted that the club had already visited several locations and was pleased to be in Shasha to extend support for the residents through the food palliative distribution.

Ogunyemi further expressed his appreciation to the monarch for calling the community together and to the people for their warm response.

He reiterated the club’s commitment to supporting the well-being of the people of Lagos State.

One of the beneficiaries Mrs. Ibrahim Sekinat, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Eko Club International for their kindness and generosity in distributing food packages to the community.

‘I am very happy’, she said, ‘May they never be hungry’, she added while praying for the continued well-being of the club members.

Mrs. Ibrahim Sekinat also offered a heartfelt prayer for the club’s continued prosperity, saying, ‘God will keep assisting all the members of Eko Club International. I pray they always prosper’.

Another beneficiary Mrs. Abike Shittu, expressed her joy and gratitude to Eko Club International for their timely and generous support.

She said, ‘Considering the current situation in the country, it is a big surprise to receive food packages. We are very grateful to Eko Club International for their kindness and support’.
