COMMENDATIONSAS HON. HAMMED AROYEWUN SUPPORTS ISLAMIC FAITHFULS WITH FOOD PACKS, AS COUNCIL BOSS HOSTS HIS FIRST RAMADAN LECTURE AS EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF IGBOGBO-BAIYEKU LCDA

The Executive Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun on 4th February hosted his first Ramadan Lecture as the council boss.

In his address to the gathering, Aroyewun stated that he decided to improve on the annual lecture by incorporating the distribution of food packs to hundreds of attendees, as a way of supporting the Muslim faithfuls who are currently observing the fast.

He equally noted that the food support was in line with Islamic injuction, which recommends the giving of alms and other forms of kindness during the solemn season.

Concluding, Awoyewun urged everyone present to fear Allah in their thoughts and deeds, while assuring that the next edition of the lecture in 2027 would be bigger and better.

Addressing the Muslim faithfuls, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, in his brief remarks urged the attendees to heed the teachings of the lecture, noting that the message was both timely and crucial. Oba Kasali emphasized the importance of applying the teachings of the Holy Month of Ramadan as true Islamic faithfuls.

Delivering his lecture on the theme, “A Muslim in Thought, Speech, and Action”. Sheikh Lukman Rasaq Al-Mubarak noted that Islam is more than praying, fasting, and giving sadaqah.

He stated that Islam is anchored on true humanity and that a true Muslim is somome that upholds Islamic virtues both in his public or private spaces and one who thinks well of others in both public and private.

Speaking further, Sheikh Lukman stressed that Islam works on intelligent, emotional and relational quotient.

Quoting from the Holy Quran, the Islamic Cleric added that a Muslim is someone who speaks well, act well, and have good thoughts.

He also implored the attendees to form the habit of praising Allah during good or bad times and exercise patience.

The Islamic Cleric concluded his lecture by disclosing that, Ramadan goes beyond fasting alone, but its an opportunity for positive change for all Muslims. He therefore implored attendees not to go back to sin and immorality after Ramadan.

‘Devote your time to becoming a good Muslim to the core. Fear Allah and abide by his rules and regulations’, he submitted.

The highly impactful program emphasized living Islam holistically, beyond rituals. Sheikh Al-Mubarak’s lecture urged Muslims to embody good thoughts, speech, and actions. The event ended with a call to all and sundry to fear Allah and live a Godly life.

The lecture climaxed with the distribution of food packs, comprising of rice, veans, garri, spaghetti and other essential food items to support the Islamic faithfuls during this fasting season.
