CALEB UNIVERSITY STUDENTS IMOTA EMBARK ON RESEARCH TO END LAGOS TRAFFIC, BUILDING COLLAPSE

Students of the first degree awarding privately-owned higher institution in Lagos State; Caleb University in Imota area of Ikorodu division, have embarked on a research project to provide a lasting solution to the nerve-racking perpetual traffic situation in Lagos State.

According to the Vice-Chancellor of the tertiary Institution, Professor Daniel Aina, on Monday, July 24th, 2017, said the University took up the research in compliance with the mission statement of the university to focus on environmental issues and commerce.

Explaining reasons behind the choice of Lagos rather than the institution’s host state, the Vice Chancellor stated that Lagos is currently cited as Africa’s most populous city, and notorious for its daily, frustrating traffic jams and poor road network. He added that students of the institution are also researching on ways to tackling issues of building collapse, which has become a regular occurrence in the state.

Revealing other areas of research the higher institution of learning is working on, Professor Aina noted that Science students in the institution were also currently on a study in Community and Public Health, in the bid to value the health of Lagosians.

The Don also disclosed that the University had hosted a major International Conference recently on issues relating to public health, which attracted scholars from Europe., America and some African countries.
