ASSPON IKORODU ELECTIONS: MEET AJAYI ABAYOMI SUNDAY, A CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL PRINTER THAT IS SET TO REPOSITION IKORODU’S PRINTING SECTOR

Barely 24 hours to the much-anticipated general elections of the Association of Professional Printers of Nigeria, Ikorodu Chapter, many aspirants have indicated interest in various elective offices of the association in the coming elections.

Among the two Chairmanship aspirants, one man that stands tall and appears to have the Midas touch is Abayomi Ajayi Sunday, CEO Sunaj Commercial Printers.

In an exclusive chat with Ikorodu Oga Radio, AJ as he is fondly called by his admirers disclosed that he was contesting for the Chairmanship position to bring his wealth of professional experience, exposure and vast network to bear in the leadership of ASSPON Ikorodu Chapter.

‘ASSPON Ikorodu has come of age, in this time and age of technology and innovation, ASSPON and it’s members cannot afford to remain in the back seat. What we need now is a leadership that is visionary, passionate and all-inclusive in order to reposition ASSPON for the benefit of it’s members’.

‘I am not in the race for any personal gain, but rather to bring my little experience and exposure to bear in repositioning our association for the good of all. I hereby appeal to our esteemed members to shun sentiments, campaign of calumny and inducement and support my candidacy on Thursday, 16th December. I am counting on your supports for us to make history together as a body of professionals’, he concluded.

Below is the profile of the ASSPON Chairmanship aspirant;

Born over 50 years ago, Ajayi Abayomi Sunday, a.k.a AJ had his primary at LA Primary School, Ifonyintedo Egbado and LA Primary School, Noforija Epe between 1977 and 1985 respectively.

He later proceeded to Noforija Grammar School, Epe between 1977 and 1985 where he sat for his WASSCE Examination.

He enrolled as a Printing Apprentice at Dynasty Press, Palm Avenue, Mushin Lagos between 1987 -1989.

AJ, as a man who does not give in to half knowledge, he proceeded to Planternbag Limited for further training in Light Packaging, Label and Leaflets printing between 1989-1993 and was certified as a Professional Printer.

He joined Jeromelaiho & Associates Opebi, Ikeja as a Press Production Assistant between 1993-1994 and also had a stint with Odufuwa Modern Design at Toyin Street, Ikeja from 1994 -1995.

In 1996, young Sunday Ajayi ventures into private practice and founded his personal printing firm, Sunaj Commercial Printers and got the company registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission. The company has handled major printing jobs for corporate organisations, government institutions and private individuals, ranking as a major print company in Lagos and South West parts of Nigeria.

AJ, through his company, Sunaj Commercial Co. bided and won the LASPOTECH Printing Press management under a Private Public Partnership arrangement for the development and training of LASPOTECH students in the art of printing technology and for the facilitation of printing jobs within and outside the LASPOTECH Campus Community.

In his quest for professional knowledge and exposure, AJ has attended the largest Printing and Graphics exhibition for printers from across the globe at the ESPIRIT ARENA DUSSELDORF, Germany (Drupa 2016).

He is an active member of the Association of Professional Printers of Nigeria (ASSPON), Ikorodu Chapter.

Abayomi Sunday Ajayi is also a Council Member of the prestigious Chartered Institute of Professional Printers of Nigeria (CIPPON).
