In what can be likened to a much-anticiapated decision, the entire Anoko-Ogbonyari Royal Family of Ikorodu and Sagamu has formally installed a notable Akarigbo Prince from the Ogbonyari Akarigbo Branch, Omo’ba Bolajokotade Ogunbiyi Ogbonyari, a.k.a Jokotex as the Olotu-General of Anoko-Ogbonyari Family in Ikorodu.
Prince Jokotade was formally presented to the entire Family stakeholders and leaders during the September monthly family meeting held at Anoko-Ogbonyari Akarigbo Palace in Sagamu yesterday, Sunday 10th September.
This development is sequel to the demise of the last Olotu, late Ajose Ajasa Efunnowo, who hailed from the Anoko Branch of the Family in Ikorodu.
Upon the demise of late Ajasa Efunnowo, Prince Jokotex as he is popularly called was nominated by the Ogbonyari Akarigbo Branch to fill the vacancy based on the existing mutual rotational understanding within the family. While a minority from the Anoko branch kicked against the decision and delayed what should have been a seamless transition, yesterday’s formal presentation of certificate to Prince Jokotex by the Oloore and Traditional Head of the Anoko-Ogbonyari Akarigbo Royal Family in Sagamu and Ikorodu, Dr Olukoya Adeleke Adedoyin has finally put paid to the unnecessary bickerings.
Family members who witnessed the event applauded the decision and commended the Family leadership for stamping their authority, thus maintaining peace and harmony among the family members.
Similarly, Architect Taiwo Akintunde Kara, an accomplished Architect was also presented to the Family as the new Olotu Ogbonyari Akarigbo Royal Family in Ikorodu, following the elevation of Prince Jokotade Ogunbiyi who was until yesterday, the Olotu Ogbonyari Akarigbo Royal Family.
As a way of ensuring proper organization and restructuring, the Family also confirmed the appointment and formally presented certificate to Omo’ba Sikiru Obey Jaiyesimi as the new Olotu Anoko Akarigbo Royal Family in Ikorodu.
Omo’ba Olaniyi Ajadi Banjoko Jaiyesimi was equally honoured as Otunba Fuwase of Anoko-Ogbonyari.
The Oloore Anoko-Ogbonyari Royal Family, Dr Olukoya Adeleke Adedoyin charged the new family heads in Ikorodu to ensure the peaceful coordination of the royal family and all its activities in Ikorodu.
The historic event was witnessed by hundreds of Anoko-Ogbonyari Family members from Sagamu and Ikorodu.
In his maiden message to the family members on the family platform, Olotu Ogunbiyi has solicited for the support and partnership of all Akarigbo Princes and Princesses as he pilots the affairs of the royal family.
‘I wish to express my profound appreciation for the overwhelming support exhibited towards my emergence as the OLOTU-GENERAL OF ANOKO-OGBONYARI AKARIGBO ROYAL FAMILY OF IKORODU. I also wish to use this unique opportunity to solicit for the support of the entire members of the royal families in the peaceful management and implementation of programs that will enhance the socio-economic status of our respected members and take the royal family to greater heights’, he said.
Meanwhile, congratulatory messages have continued to pour in from family members on the Anoko-Ogbonyari Royal Family group platform in celebration of the new Olotu-General.
