The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon Wasiu Adeshina has hosted the council’s 8th edition of the annual Ramadan Prayers today, 29th March.

Addressing thousands of Muslim faithfuls who graced the lecture, Adeshina noted that, Ramadan is a month of spiritual cleansing. He therefore charged attendees to commit themselves to the practice of the teachings of the Ramadan Lecture.

He stated that his administration has set a solid foundation for upcoming administration to built upon.Adeshina also disclosed that his administration would soon host the official Ground-Breaking Ceremony for the Legislative Building.

The council boss equally pledged the commitment of his government to the welfare of the masses as demonstrated through the food palliatives. He stressed that the palliative support for the less-privileged would continue till the end of his administration next year, not minding the cost.

The Guest Lecturer, Imam Dr. Shakrudeen Adegbolahan Orilobamise of the Iradatullahi Islamic Society of Nigeria, Ikorodu spoke on the importance of good works during the Ramadan.

In his admonition, Orilobamishe noted that, Allah expected good works from every good Muslim, particularly during Ramadan. He specifically asked those in authorities to use their offices and positions for the upliftment of the downtrodden.

Speaking further, he charged the political class to play politics with the fear of God, while noting that, campaign of calumny was in Islamic and can cause God’s wrath. He was full of praises for Hon Adeshina for his consistency in hosting the annual Ramadan Prayers.

The lecture was graced by the Vice Chairman, Hon Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba, Leader of the Legislative House, Hon Adebola Adebowale and the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon Lateef Afinih.

Othwes were a former Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Alh Waheed Owokodu, APC Chairman , Ikorodu Central, Hon. Waheed Animashaun and APC Women Leader Ikorodu Division, Alh Rasheedat Bello.

The lecture was also graced by the Councilors , Supervisors and Iyaloja-General of Ikorodu Central, Princess Adebukola Osho,

A major highpoint of the event was the distribution of packaged rice and garri to 2,000 Islamic faithfuls who graced the lecture.
