ACCOLADES AS YOUTHFUL LAGOS COMMISSIONER, BISOLA OLUSANYA PARTNERS IDYIM TO EMPOWER 33 IKORODU DIVISION YOUTHS

A prominent member of the Lagos State executive council and Commissioner for Agriculture in the State, Ms Abisola Olusanya has partnered the Ikorodu Division Youths Initiative Movement, IDYIM to empower 33 Ikorodu Division Youths with trade tools and vocational equipments.

The event which was the third in its series was facilitated by the IDYIM, a leading Ikorodu divusion based youth body and sponsored by the Honourable Commissioner for Agric, Ms Bisola Olusanya.

33 Ikorodu youths who were trained in various locations and skills, ranging from Fashion Designing, hair dressing, make -up and other skill sets were empowered on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Oba Semiu Kasali Orimadegun Vocational Center Igbogbo and witnessed by notable youths and stakeholders.

Speaking at the event, chairman of the occasion, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun commended Ikorodu Division Youth Initiative and the Sponsor, Ms Olusanya for embarking on the commendable initiative.

Asiwaju also noted that Ikorodu has never experienced anything like this empowerment from any cabinet member until now. He noted that, was a norm with legislators like Hon. Abike Dabiri, Hon S.O.B Agunbiade, Hon. Sholaja and Hon. Babajimi Benson.

He concluded by encouraging other politicians and philanthropists to emulate the commissioner’s good gesture.

Chairman Board of Trustees of I.D.Y.I, Dr. Abiodun-Fatai Abatan in his speech went memory lane on how the organization started and the challenges it faced.

He also commended the sponsor of the empowerment initiative, Hon. Ms. Abisola Ruth Olusanya for her efforts in eradicating poverty in Ikorodu Division.

APC Senatorial Leader, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya who was ably represented by Barr. Ayeni advised the beneficiaries on the need to make a judicious use of the equipment. He also implored them to acultivate the habit of giving back to the society.

A total of 33 youths were presented with various vocational equipments namely, 12 Sewing Machines, 10 Make-Up Box Tools, and 11 Hair Dressing Equipments

Miss Blessing, one of the beneficiaries of from the IDYIM’s previous empowerment last year also testified of her success story on how her life was impacted with the equipment, this encouraging the beneficiaries to follow suit.

Some of the guests at the event were Hon. Azeez Olosugbo, Mr. Amusa Adesina (DG PAJ), Mrs. Bisi Bello Mustapha, Comr. Oke Godwin Ogoluwa, (Member Board of Trustee IDYI), Comr Seun Elesho, Mrs. Risikat Adeola Onabajo
(Principal Vocational School), Mrs Adebowale Omolere Alonge
(Vice principal) among others.
