A few weeks to the APC party primary, market men and women across Ikorodu Division have formally declared their support for the re-election of the incumbent member of the House of Reps, Hon. Babajimi Benson.
The market leaders across Ikorodu Division made the declaration on Friday, 24th April at the office of the Iyaloja-General of Ikorodu Division, Dcns Busola Isikalu.
Explaining the reason for declaring support for Hon. Babajimi Benson’s bid for a fourth term as House of Representatives member, the market leaders cited infrastructural drive across the division.
They also highlighted Benson’s remarkable contributions to market development and community infrastructure across Ikorodu Division.
Iyaloja General of Igbogbo Bayeku, Chief Mrs. Asake Modinat expressed strong support for Hon. Benson, noting that she can point to several projects the lawmaker has executed for market people and traders within her domain in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA.
Speaking in the same vein, General Secretary of Ijede LCDA marketmen andwomen, Madam Raji Oludayo Balikis also declared support for Rep Benson’s fourth term bid, stating that Benson’ssupport for market men and women in Ijede LCDA was monumental.
Chief Mrs Olawunmi Idowu Anjorin, Iyaloja General of Imota LCDA, also appealed to market men and women across Ikorodu Division to support Hon. Benson for a fourth term.
According to her, the hospital facility was a dream the Imota LCDA people had always dreamt of until Rep Benson made it a reality.
She emphasized that Benson was a good listener who responds whenever he is called upon, referencing the construction of an 80-bed general hospital equipped with modern facilities as a demonstration of good listenership.
Similarly, the Deputy Iyaloja General of Ikorodu West LCDA and Iyaloja of Oluwo Idikan Market in IkoroduWest LCDA, Chief Mrs Feyintola Lawal Jayesimi, pleaded with the people of Ikorodu Division to support Hon. Jimi Benson for a fourth term to enable him complete the good works he is doing.
She noted that Benson’s interventions in the market she manages are significant, adding that for over 20 years, the market had no solar lighting until Benson provided illumination, which she described as bringing “brightness” to the market.
Iyaloja General of Ikorodu North LCDA, Iya Aafin Kudirat Ogunmuyiwa, in her remarks, called on Ikorodu Division indigenes at home and in the diaspora to support the federal lawmaker’s fourth term ambition, stating that his works were visible and could be felt across Ikorodu Division.
In what could be described as a seal on the position of her fellow market leaders, the Iyaloja General of Ikorodu Division Local Government, Mrs. Deaconess Busola Elizabeth Isikalu, also endorsed Hon. Benson for a fourth term.
Isikalu in her presentation described Benson as “God-sent,” noting that his drive for community development is both natural and continuous.
She highlighted several ongoing road projects and a massive market construction project at Aga as some.of the trademarks of Benson.
She added that many of Benson’s projects were still ongoing and will be completed in his fourth term.
She further stated that the formal declaration of support for Benson’s 4th term was meant to validate Benson’s visible impacts on market men and women across Ikorodu Division, who have felt his impact and are fully behind him.
Concluding the market leaders, able supported by their male counterparts, known as Babalojas collectively affirmed their support for Hon. Babajimi Benson describing his representation as impactful and unprecdednted across Ikorodu Division.
