10TH CORONATION ANNIVERSARY: AYANGBUREN OF IKORODU, OBA KABIRU ADEWALE SHOTOBI LAUNCHES SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME TO SUPPORT INDIGENT UNDERGRADUATES

As part of activities marking his 10th Coronation Anniversary on the throne, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu and Permanent Vice Chairman of Lagos State Council of Obas, His Royal Majesty, Oba Engr Dr Kabiru Adewale Shotobi has launched an scholarship award to support indigent Undergraduates across Ikorodu community.

According to Asiwaju Kaoli Olusanya, the Asipa of Ikorodu, who also doubles as the Chairman, 10th Coronation Anniversary Public Lecture & Book Publication Sub-Committee the scholarship award is open to both indigenes and non-indigenes who are residents of Ikorodu.

Beneficiaries must be Undergraduates in their second year in the University and should be within 3.5 CGPA and above.

At the end of the end of the exercise, 50 shortlisted beneficiaries of the scholarship award would be presented with N250,000 cash award each during the 10th Coronation Anniversary Commemorative Public Lecture which will be held on Tuesday, 5th August, 2025.

In commemoration of his 10th year on the throne, His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi—the Ayangburen of Ikorodu—has instituted an annual scholarship scheme to support brilliant but indigent students of Ikorodu central origin and residents studying in Nigerian tertiary institutions. The initiative aims to promote academic excellence, alleviate financial burdens, and reduce the number of out-of-school youths vulnerable to social vices.

Eligibility and Requirements:
– The applicant must be a registered full-time student in any of the tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
– Must be in the second year and above and have a Cumulative Grade Point Average of not less than 3.50 CGPA or second class upper division in the case of Universities or Upper credit in the case of Polytechnics or Monotechnics as at the time of application.
– Must provide proof of Indigeneship in case of indigene [Letter from a recognized Oba and identification letter from the Local Government). As a resident, he/she must submit a LASSRA as proof of residence.
– Must attach the copy of his/her Academic profile duly signed by the University Registrar or the HOD of his/her Department.
– Must currently not be a beneficiary of any other scholarship
Applicants found to have provided false information is automatically disqualified.
