The race towards the 2023 Ikorodu Constituency 1 House of Assembly seat is getting more interesting as more candidates continue to declare their interest.
The latest entrant into the race is a young entrepreneur and community development advocate, Mr Isikalu Bolaji Olanrewaju a.k.a IBO.
Bolaji formally announced his interest in the race through a formal letter of intent which was made available to Ikorodu Oga Radio.
‘I, Isikalu Bolaji Olanrewaju (IBO), humbly present myself as the much-anticipated SHIFT AGENT, to provide virile representation that is capable of espousing better life, through effective representation for all at the Lagos state House of Assembly (LAHA).
“I write to formally inform you of my intention to represent you at the Lagos State House of Assembly in the 2023 General Elections’.
‘My desire to join active politics, through this ambition stemmed from the need for a complete shift in the representation of our Constituency’.
Bolaji who joins the race with the SHIFT mantra is challenging the current representative status quo in the Constituency 1, imploring constituents and residents to embrace a SHIFT from the status quo.
‘Having experienced the same representation for straight 16 years, it is time for a complete Generational, Paradigm and Mind Shift in Ikorodu Constituency 1’, he said.
Speaking further, Isikalu explained the rationale behind his decision to join the race.
‘You would agree with me that, daily happenings around us have rendered silence / inaction useless and criminal. Whereas, the silent scream of our people for dynamic, practical and quality representation is growing louder by the day’.
‘No doubt, we need a paradigm shift from the conventional representation. We need a youthful, proactive, responsible and responsive personality that can lead the required shift to a new lease of life for the good people of Ikorodu Constituency 1’, he asserted.
He further noted that, ‘To this end, I have pitched my tent with the ruling, All Progressives Congress (APC). The forthcoming 2023 General Elections presents us with another golden opportunity to rewrite the story of our Constituency for the better and with your support, we can collectively make this happen!’
He concluded by seeking for robust and practical support of residents and constituents, towards repositioning Ikorodu Constituency 1 for the better.
