1ST YEAR ANNIVERSARY: IKORODU LGA UNVEILS PERFORMANCE SCORE-CARD, PRESENTS OFFICIAL CAR TO VICE CHAIRMAN, 120 GCE FORMS AND BURSARY AWARD TO STUDENTS

The Management of Ikorodu local government has rolled out the drums to mark its first year anniversary in office. The event, which was held at the multipurpose hall of the LGA, was well attended by stakeholders across the critical sectors of the Ikorodu community.

Presenting his scorecards to guests and party supporters, Hon Wasiu Adeshina, Executive Chairman of the local government stated that his administration has delivered on its campaign promises to residents of Ikorodu local government in the last 365 days of his administration. The local government executive was sworn in on June 20th, 2017.

The Chairman, in his speech stressed that, with the rate at which the local government is going, the economy of Ikorodu would soon be comparable to that of other world cities like New York and Dubai. Some of the major developmental projects the unveiled at the one year anniversary includes, the construction of Culvert at the entrance of Sabo and Kokoro Abu junctions. Construction of another culvert at Olusesi junction, by Owode along Igbogbo road.

Other projects unveiled by the Chairman include, the construction of drainage and surfacing of Molupa road. Construction of drainage in Ayanra and on-going road surfacing. He also informed the gathering about the construction of Adeyeri Owuyo street, off Lagos Road, in partnership with Zenith Bank Ltd. Hon Adeshina disclosed that the second phase of the road construction will commence in earnest.

Others include, the renovation of Councilors and Supervisory Councilors’ office and construction of drainage at Ginti and AP-1Fold and Ewu Owa Road at Gberigbe

Completion of all drainages at Sabo market and interlocking of the roads within the market, with street light and a power generating set. Surfacing of Obunoke, Ita Aro and Itamito, Construction and painting of Agura Gberigbe PHC, donation of a motorised borehole to Sabo market by Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa among others.

Hon Adeshina also disclosed that his administration has partnered with CDAs and CDCs within the local government in the outgoing year. He added that, his administration also facilitated the N-Power training in partnership with Federal Government, among other collaborations that has impacted positively upon the residents of the LGA.

A major highlight of the event was the presentation of a Toyota Camry car as the official car of the vice chairman, Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba and the presentation of 120 GCE forms and bursary awards to deserving students. Adeshina hinted that the Vice Chairman’s official car is the first to be purchased under the administration.

A visibly elated Vice Chairman, Hon Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba thanked Ikorodu residents for their unflinching support in the last one year, promising that herself, the Chairman and entire Ikorodu local government team will continue to strive to deliver more democracy dividends in the subsequent years ahead.

Not resting on its oars, Hon Adeshina revealed that his administration will be embarking on the construction of toilet facilities with fence at the Salvation Army School, Ikorodu before the end of the year.
