100 DAYS IN OFFICE: HON ADESHINA EMPOWERS 100 RESIDENTS WITH N2MILLION CASH SUPPORT, SEVEN OTHERS WITH MINI BUSES

The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu local government, Hon Wasiu Adeshina has empowered seven (7) residents in the local government with seven (7) mini buses, as part of activities marking his 100 days in office.

Adeshina also gave a cash support of N20,000 each to 100 other beneficiaries, to support them in their trades and businessee.

Explaining the rationale behind the empowerment initiative, Hon Adeshina disclosed that he chose to empower his constituents to commemorate his 100 days in office, in line with the promises made during his second term electioneering campaigns.

Addressing the audience, comprising of political leaders, youths and market men and women, Hon disclosed that the event was in continuation of his administration’s laudable empowerment programmes.

‘This event is in continuation of our numerous laudable empowerment initiatives for the youths, widows, market men and women and CDAs in commemoration of our 100 days in office’.

Speaking further, Adeshina also appreciated the unflinching support, prayers and cooperation so far received from the youths, market men and women, including the CDCs in all areas, which has contributed to the success, achievements and development strides made in Ikorodu local government.

He added that, ‘in this trying times of unsteady economic environment that has drastically increased the level of unemployment, this administration has deemed it fit to continue to empower and engage our youths with necessary tools to work with, with a view to making them financially stable and to assist them to become self-reliant.

One of the major highlights of the event was the formal unveiling of the Council’s website, which the chairman said was meant to project the activities of the council area globally.

Hon Adeshina also used the opportunity of the event to inaugurate the council’s Park Management Committee headed by Mr Ayanbadejo, aimed at addressing illegal bus stops and indiscriminate parking of vehicles across the council area.

The event climaxed with the presentation of the sum of N20,000 each to 100 beneficiaries made up of youths, market men and women, CDC members and widows by the Council boss and assisted by some of the high table guests.

Seven (7) other beneficiaries were also presented with seven (7) mini buses and one Toyota Picnic car, as part of the Council’s 100 Days empowerment initiatives. The beneficiaries were Mr Salaudeen M.A, Mr Kamoru Ijelu, Mr Osuolale Ebuoso, Mr Oladimeji Awe, Mr Folami Shotubo, Mr Tijani Owolabi and Mr Ganiyu Anjorin who got the picnic car.

Hon Adeshina however charged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the cash and vehicles to boost their businesses and uplift their lives.

Speaking with Ikorodu Oga Radio after presenting the vehicles to the beneficiaries, a former Lagos State Head of Service and former Chairman of the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, Bashorun Babatunde Rotinwa noted that, the essence of the local governnent was to impart on the grassroots, through provision of social amenities and empowerment initiatives.

He therefore commended Hon Wasiu Adeshina for giving meaning to local government administration with his people-oriented projects he is embarking upon.

One of the beneficiaries of the buses and a former APC Wars Chairman, Mr Ebuoso Osuolale thanked the chairman for his kind gesture. He confessed that, for the first time in his many years of being a politician, he got a meaningful reward and compensation, courtesy of Hon Wasiu Adeshina.
