
The Executive Council of the Ikorodu-Oga Development Association (IKODASS), under the distinguished leadership of His Royal Majesty, Oba (Engr.) Kabir Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, the Paramount Ruler of the Ikorodu Division, has presented the Ikorodu-Oga Public Service Award to Mrs Rianat Onigbanjo, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (MWAPA), Lagos State.
The honour was bestowed during a special ceremony held at the historic Ikorodu Town Hall, Owolowo, as part of the activities marking the 34th Ikorodu-Oga Day Celebration (2025 Edition) on Friday, November 14, 2025.

In his address while presenting the award, HRM Oba Sotobi commended Mrs Onigbanjo for her outstanding commitment to public service, exemplary leadership, and her impactful contributions to community development within Ikorodu and beyond. He described her as “a shining example of integrity, dedication, and excellence in public administration.”
Speaking on behalf of the Executives of IKODASS, the Chairman, Alhaji Kolawole Fatai Olayiwola emphasised that the award aims to:
Motivate civil and public servants to continue delivering exceptional service in Ikorodu-Oga; Encourage others to emulate the awardee’s dedication, professionalism, and community spirit; and Celebrate the remarkable achievements of both indigenes and non-indigenes whose work enhances the growth and well-being of Ikorodu-Oga.

In her acceptance remarks, Mrs Onigbanjo expressed profound gratitude to IKODASS and the Ayangburen of Ikorodu for the recognition. She dedicated the award to all hardworking officers in the public service and reaffirmed her commitment to advancing initiatives that uplift women, families, and communities across Lagos State.
The 2025 Ikorodu-Oga Day continues to spotlight cultural pride, unity, and the celebration of excellence in service delivery and values that remain central to the progress and identity of Ikorodu-Oga.
The festival had in attendance several dignitaries, including Permanent Secretaries, Executive Secretaries, Directors, and traditional rulers across Ikorodu Division, who came to support the development efforts and welfare of Ikorodu.
