
The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adeshina has stated that he has completed a total of one hundred roads in the last nine years in office.
Adeshina stated this in Ikorodu on Tuesday during the formal commissioning of Solomade and Adekaiyaoja streets in Ikorodu.
The Council boss noted that the road projects were either started or completed during his tenure as Executive Secretary and later as Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government for within a period of nine years.
He stated further that, some of the roads were the Solomade Adekaiyaoja streets which was being commissioned as well as the Ajina-Obun-Ale and Obun-Oke streets which will be due for commissioning before he leaves office later in July.
Earlier in his royal remarks at the event, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Engr Dr Kabiru Adewale Shotobi thanked Adeshina for embarking on the reconstruction of the Solomade and Adekaiyaoja road project 42 years after it was first constructed in 1983.
Reiterating the historic importance of the road, the revered monarch went back memory lane recounting how as a young man, himself and other residents used to pass through the road to fetch water from the erikorodo stream at Solomade.
Oba Shotobi also used the opportunity to charge residents of the axis to ensure proper use and maintenance of the road as a way of showing appreciation to the local government.
