For the fourth time in a row, the Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative (IDPIL) has announced the formal opening of her registration portal for the 4th Edition of her Annual Scholarship and Bursary Award Presentation.
The announcement was made recently at a Press Conference held in the body’s headquarters in Ikorodu last Thursday.
IDPIL launched Scholarship and Bursary Initiative, since 2022 with almost 1,000 Undergraduates as beneficiaries.
While speaking at the Press conference, held at the IDPIL Secretariat in Ikorodu, the Chairman of the Scholarship and Bursary Committee and a former Commissioner for Tourism in Lagos State, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, reiterated that the organisation believes that, “Insecurity has strong ties with Education. A child who is deprived of education is susceptible to crime/vices.”
It is for this reason that the body has decided to tackle this root cause, in a bid to foster Peace and Security in the Division.
Hon. Akinsola went further to reveal that, “The Scholarship and Bursary Award was an idea birthed out of the need to support indigent students – indigenes and residents across Ikorodu Division”
Also present at the Press Conference was the Consultant to the committee, Dr. Fatai Abiodun Abatan, Dean Student Affairs, Lagos State University, LASU, who explained that the educational empowerment Initiative, is in three categories; Scholarship, Bursary 1 and Bursary 2.
Abatan then went on to explain the criteria for each category the awards:

This humongous investment, closing in on ₦100Million over the past four editions of the scholarship and Bursary Award goes on to reflect the commitment and dedication of IDPIL to capacity building and educational development.
The Non-profit community-based organisation was established in 2022, to address some security infractions witnessed in Ikorodu Division in 2021 with a view to ensuring peace and security is maintained across the Division.
The body subsequently developed what is now known as SHEER for Agenda, aimed at addressing other critical sectors of the community.
The SHEER Agenda which is built on Security; Health; Education; E ; Road Rehabilitation; is embarking on the scholarship and Bursary Award in pursuit of one of its agenda, E which stands for Education..
