As Muslim faithfuls across the globe celebrate the annual Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the Chairman of Ikorodu Oga Development Association IKODASS, Alh. Kolawole Fatai, has urged Ikorodu sons and daughters at home and in diaspora to embrace the spirit of sacrifice that is synonymous to the season, towards their kith and kins.
Kolawole, in his special Eid-el-Kabir message stated that personal and collective sacrifice is critical to the development of any society, hence appealing to Ikorodu sons and daughters in the diaspora to make sacrifices for the growth and development of the community.
‘Developed societies are products of citizens, who offered selfless services and made personal contributions for their societies’, he said.
‘Ikorodu is our own and we must all come together and build our community. We need to make personal and collective sacrifices for our town to fulfill the dreams of our fore-fathers who called her ‘Ilu Kekere, Oko Ilu Bantata’, he added.
Similarly, the Community leader equally charged them to show love to one another, in the spirit of the season by being their brothers’ keeper.
Concluding, the IKODASS Chairman also stressed that the times are hard and appealed to residents to show love to their neighbours by sharing their food with the needy around them.
