SIX MONTHS AFTER LEAVING OFFICE, FORMER IKORODU LG CHAIR, HON. WASIU ADESHINA DONATES BOREHOLE TO HIS FAMILY COMPOUND

Over six months after leaving office as the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon Wasiu Adeshina has donated a borehole water system to his family compound in Ikorodu

The gesture, according to Adeshina, was meant to give back to the family compound where he was born, raised, and subsequently grew up.

Addressing family members of the Muleruwa Family at the Muleruwa compound, Ikorodu led by the Chief Imam of Oriwu Central Mosque, Sheikh Yahaya Oshoala (As-Samadani) Adeshina noted that having been privileged to have been born and raised in the Muleruwa Family Compound, his success in life was also linked to his background and connection to the compound.

‘I was born and raised in this compound. I started school and grew up in this compound. So, whatever I have been able to achieve in life today can be traced to this Muleruwa compound’, he said.

Adeshina also recalled that his commitment to the family was not a recent development but an ongoing concern, noting that he was responsible for the perimeter fencing of the compound after the old wall fell, among other personal support.

The former Council boss further reiterated his commitment to the promotion of peace and unity in the family through regular attendance of family meetings and announcement of donation into the family purse, ahead of the 2026 accounting year.

Earlier, Sheikh Yahaya Oshoala, in his address, traced the roots of the Muleruwa Royal Family to the Awujale Royal stool in Ijebu Ode, in the present day Ogun State.

The Islamic Cleric equally stated that the fore-runners of the family were part of the early settlers of Ikorodu Kingdom.

He concluded by stressing that many prominent Ikorodu sons and daughters who have made their individual marks within Ikorodu and beyond were direct descendants of the Muleruwa Family compound.

The borehole was formally commissioned by the Family Head of Muleruwa Family Compound, Sheikh Yahaya Oshoala (As-Samadani), and ably supported by family members in attendance.
